Sleighing Stoss

Conveniently travel to the starting point of this sledging track by Appenzeller Bahnen train (Altstätten – Gais line). You mount your sledge directly at the Stoss train stop and fly down to Altstätten. The track is not specially prepared, but if conditions are good, it will be smooth from all the other sledges that have gone before. Afterwards, take the picturesque trip back up to Stoss by cogwheel train from Altstätten town station. Watch other sledgers race downhill while you travel up the mountain in comfort. Between December and March, Appenzeller Bahnen run special sledger trains (depending on the snow conditions and amount of traffic). The trains go up to Stoss twice per hour.
