FOUR REGIONS – ONE WORLD
From Lake Constance to Mount Säntis – the Appenzellerland has many facets. Divided into the two sub-cantons of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Appenzell Innerrhoden due to different religions, the Appenzellerland stretches across 420 square kilometres. The area is divided into four geographical regions: Foreland, Midland, Hinterland and the Inner Land, the latter belonging to Appenzell Innerrhoden. Despite the different religions, the people in the two cantons share a love of nature and a passion for tradition and culture, which are lived and celebrated in the region to this day.
