If you're hiking in Appenzellerland, you have to reckon with hilly terrain. The ups and downs are particularly pronounced on the hike from Herisau Wilen to Polishöchi and back over the Nieschberg. Views of the hilly landscape, the Alpstein and the surrounding villages more than make up for the effort.
