Wolfhalden Museum
Right in the heart of the village, at the well-known Witzweg joke trail, the Wolfhalden Museum is based in a typical and original old duplex house from the 17th century.
This is how our ancestors lived. The collection is dedicated to the lives of the silk weavers and farmers, and among the exhibits is an old loom. The fruit press with cider mill in the cellar is a reminder of the fruit and wine growing traditions in the region. Next to the arbour with toilet is the old kitchen and the interior of the inn «Zur alten Krone». In a side room, a wedding wardrobe and the village flag show the artistic side of the Wolfhalden people. Rustic wooden stairs lead up to the rooms on the upper floors, the «Vorbrugg», main bedroom and a bedroom under the roof – all illustrating how basic the living conditions were in the past. Plenty of historic documents from the municipal archives bear witness to day-to-day life and work in the region back in the day.
