Heiden Museum

In addition to the history of the spa village and domestic culture, the museum also comprises natural history and ethnology sections as well as a mineral collection.

The historical museum documents the village fire and Heiden's history as a spa resort as well as presenting a collection of typical regional furniture, rural-style paintings on wardrobes and chests, a working Baroque home organ, ornate Easter scriptures, utensils, and wooden-cog and musical clocks. In the natural history museum, an amazing exhibition of song birds and birds of prey, reptiles, game animals and predators as well as an ethnological collection from Indonesia and display cabinets with gemstones and minerals from all corners of the earth can be admired.
A permanent exhibition entitled "Cures and cures in Heiden - tourism in Heiden 1850 to the present day" is dedicated to the brilliant spa history of Heiden, which has characterised the village since the middle of the 19th century and still defines its identity today.
