On the last weekend in May, the «heiden festival» presents premium folk and world music. On outdoor stages and in six concert venues – all in the village center of the picturesque Biedermeier village Heiden in Appenzell. Bands from all over the world play here, including renowned stars from Switzerland.

Time and again, the «heiden festival» upgrades the folkloristic program by adding creative and classic players as well as other enthralling surprises. For the event in 2024, for the Friday, they have brought on board Tom Rigney and Flambeau from the U.S. along with Nicolas Senn from Gais. On Saturday, «Da Blechhauf’n» from Austria will play, to be followed on Sunday by the traveling orchestra «Stimmreise.ch 3» with first class yodeler Nadja Räss.
