360° panoramic views and culinary indulgence await at eastern Switzerland’s only revolving restaurant, at 1,794 m above sea level.

The Hoher Kasten cable car takes you from Brülisau to 1,794 m above sea level in just eight minutes, past landscapes of picturesque hills and traditional Appenzell farmhouses. The summit offers sweeping views over the Swiss Alps and Swiss Central Plateau, and across to Germany, Austria, Italy and France.

You can enjoy 360° panoramic views on the Europa Circular Trail, which goes all the way around the summit. The peak is also home to the only revolving restaurant in eastern Switzerland, with ever-changing views hour after hour. Besides the peerless views, the revolving restaurant offers superb cuisine featuring local and seasonal dishes. The Alpine Garden, a paradise of plants on the summit, is also bound to make a lasting impression. Visitors can see over 300 plant species here in all their vibrant glory. The Hoher Kasten also makes an ideal starting point for a range of hikes in all directions.
