This moderately difficult border-crossing snowshoe trail takes you in 2.5 hours from Jakobsbad in Innerrhoden, with the famous Passion of Christ abbey, to the beautiful village square of Urnäsch in Ausserrhoden, where you can warm up in one of the rustic inns.

The highest point of this trail, Zimmermannslauftegg, boasts impressive views of the Appenzell Hinterland, always with Kronberg and Säntis mountains behind you. Osteregg mountain inn is the perfect place for a warming rest along the way.
