Before you start the actual joke trail in Heiden, visit the joke box. There you will find out why the Appenzell joke has ended up on the list of living traditions. You will be accompanied on the joke trail by Barbara the seagull and Witzli. You can listen to the jokes at numerous joke stations and find out exciting background information via the web app.
If you don't want to do it all on foot, you can also cover part of the distance comfortably by post bus.
In Walzenhausen you travel comfortably to Rheineck on the nostalgic rack railway.
The last stage of the adventure tour is the boat trip through the nature reserve along the Old Rhine to the starting point in Rorschach.
