Eggen-Höhenweg - Eggen high trail
The Eggen high trail is a true hiking classic. Culinary delights await you at the start at Hotel zur Linde or the Anker Hotel & Restaurant. After taking in some sustenance, take the short but steep climb up to Schäflisegg. On this section of the route, we recommend a visit to the A. Vogel medicinal herb garden, directly on the trail above Teufen. For the rest of the hike you will enjoy wonderful views of Mount Säntis on one side and Lake Constance on the other. From A. Vogel medicinal herb garden to the Waldegg Adventure, panels along the way display interesting facts about indigenous herbs. After about an hour’s walk, the Waldegg themed restaurant awaits, where you can take a most enjoyable rest. The trail continues via Oberhorst to the historic Vögelinsegg. From the nearby Appenzeller Bahnen station you can travel back to your starting point in comfort.

Parking spaces are available in the underground car park at the station, at the «Zeughausplatz» or at the Landhaus sports ground in Teufen.
