Puppet Theatre Museum, Herisau
In September 2020, the new Puppet Theatre Museum opened in Herisau. Visitors can immerse themselves in the magic world of puppetry with different types of marionettes, hand puppets etc. presented in lovingly designed rooms. The permanent exhibitions are complemented by themed shows that provide insights into ever-changing facets of puppet theatre. The museum wants to inspire children and adults alike to tell and act out their own stories. During their visit children can admire a wide range of different puppets and try puppetry themselves or listen to fairy tales at different stations along the way.
The Puppet Theatre Museum is open Wednesdays from 2 pm to 5 pm and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm.
