Mia's trout and crayfish farm - guided tour

Trout and Swiss crayfish in a natural reserve.

A visit to this brown trout fish farm on 6 hectares of the most picturesque countryside makes for a very special experience. Klaus Signer took over the former gravel pit from his parents and tells the visitors many exciting stories about his hobby. He feeds the fish daily with organic fish food, monitors the bubbling water that supplies the pond with oxygen and cleans the basins.
Other fish living in the three ponds that are fed by their own spring include pikeperch, large trout and feed fish such as rudd and tench as well as Swiss crayfish. A part of this area is to be designated as a nature reserve. Among the species living here are yellow-bellied toads, midwife toads, various salamander species, kingfishers, kites and herons.
