A family-run business offering an excellent, innovative and varied range of products. During a fascinating guided tour you will learn interesting facts about the craft of beer brewing in the Appenzellerland.

Locher AG brewery was acquired by the Locher family in 1886 and is now the only active brewery in the Appenzellerland. Today, the independent business is run by the fifth generation of Lochers and has gained recognition far and wide for its speciality and traditional beers.

The beers are brewed using traditional craft methods with particular emphasis on the provenance and sustainability of the raw materials. Let yourself be carried away by the fascination of the traditional art of brewing! Discover how Appenzell beer and Säntis Malt Whisky are made from fresh water. Various tastings will introduce you to the incomparably fresh beers and the full-bodied Säntis Malt.

Beer-tasting sessions for individual visitors are held every Thursday (except holidays) at 10.15 am. Pre-booking is not required.
