Appenzellerland for families – 48 hours

1. Winter hike with the whole family

A section of the themed hike "Rond om Bühler" is groomed in winter and well suited for families. The total of 12 different information boards provide hikers with exciting facts about the village of Bühler and the Appenzellerland.

2. Ice skating

When the temperatures are cold enough, the Gaiserau sports field is transformed into a natural ice rink, an experience for young and old.

3. AN OVERNIGHT FARM STAY

Spend the night at a farm that offers bucolic calm and contact with the farm animals.

4. Hiking with a difference

Visit the animal adventure farm in Urnäsch in the afternoon and hike together with llamas and alpacas over hill and dale. Before you set off, learn about llamas, alpacas and trekking over an aperitif or coffee and cake.

After the trekking, you can also book a fondue or barbecue in the forest.

5. FUN, PLAY AND RELAXATION

After the thrilling treasure hunt, head to the sports centre in Herisau (blue dot on the overview map). The children splash around in the pool with its amazing children’s slide, while the adults relax in the sauna or on the sunbeds.
