Whether summer or winter. The Säntis panorama route is ideal for an after-work ride on a racing bike or e-bike. In just over 2 hours, with little traffic, you can reach the most beautiful viewpoints in the Appenzell hinterland, which offer spectacular views of the Säntis, especially in the evening mood.

If you hike over the hills of the Appenzell region, you will be rewarded with far-reaching views. I recommend a river walk for a change. Deep views of wild gorges and mighty rock faces are guaranteed alongside the cool waters of the Urnäsch, the Rotbach or the Goldach. A delightful natural experience for adventurers.

The "water trail" shows the importance and use of water from the past to the present. Along meadows and through forests you walk along the idyllic "Siebebröggliweg" past the 13 different stations of the water trail. A barbecue area or the Alpenrose restaurant invites you to relax.

Whether alone or in a group, if you want to exercise not only your calves but also your laughing muscles while hiking, the Witzweg is the right place for you. The trail leads from Heiden to Walzenhausen, a wonderful view over Lake Constance and hearty laughter are guaranteed.

Paths of various lengths lead from all sides across green meadows to the Hochhamm. With a magnificent view of the hilly Appenzellerland, the ascent is much easier. The reward is a refreshment at the Hochhamm mountain restaurant with views of the Säntis and Lake Constance.

A challenging ascent with a magnificent panorama: from Schwägalp, the route leads via Potersalp and Schwizerälpli on the little-travelled, steep alpine route to the imposing Nasenlöchern. After easy climbing passages, the trail continues - always with the destination in sight - over the blue snow to the Himmelsleiter, which takes you to the Säntis and rewards you with a breathtaking view.

The large puzzle trail in Schwellbrunn offers new puzzles to solve every year. Accompanied by ‘Hüpfi’, the nimble rabbit, the circular trail leads over hills, through forests and past inviting resting places - always with an impressive view of the Säntis. An experience that combines nature and puzzle fun for the whole family.

The trail leads across green meadows and up to panoramic heights. After Alp Guggeien, you finally reach the metal summit cross of the Spitzli via a rocky passage. Once at the top, you are rewarded with an impressive panorama: from Lake Constance over the Säntis massif to the Glarus Alps and on to the Rigi.
